How we determined our ranking
We compiled the top 50 best universities for AI based on their ranking for AI research attributions. We then took those universities and added in their overall international university ranking plus the number of AI-related courses available, to give us an overview of the scope to excel in artificial intelligence at each institution.
- School prestige: The universities were ranked on a scale of 1 – 50 (with more points indicating a higher score) for their overall university ranking.
- AI research: We also scored the universities on a scale of 1 – 50 (with more points indicating a higher score) based on their official ranking for artificial intelligence-related research contributions.
- Number of courses: Finally, universities were ranked on the number of AI-related programs they had available. More courses, more points.
