Siri AI Now Remembers Past Chats and Draws on Your Voicemails
Apple's iOS 27.2 lets Siri AI recall past conversations and read more of your phone, including voicemails, in six languages but not in the EU. It also fixes 163 security flaws.

Siri can now remember what you asked it last week. Apple’s iOS 27.2 update, out since Monday, lets Siri AI recall past conversations and dig into more of your personal data, including your voicemails and Safari history. It also brings the new Siri to five more languages, though still not to anyone in the EU.
What changed
Siri AI is the rebuilt, chatbot-style Siri Apple launched with iOS 27. According to Apple’s iOS 27.2 release notes, it can now “recall your past conversations”. Apple’s example: you can ask about the restaurants Siri recommended last week.
It can also draw on more sources to answer you. The notes list photos attached in Messages, the people invited to your calendar events, your voicemails, and “better results” from Safari history and Reading List. In plain terms, Siri can now look across more of what is on your phone before it replies.
The features need an iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max or any iPhone 16 model or later, the same phones that got Apple Intelligentie in the first place.
Six languages, two big gaps
Siri AI now works in six languages. Apple’s announcement adds French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish to English, all in beta. Chinese (traditional), Norwegian, Turkish and Vietnamese are due by the end of the year.
There are limits. Siri AI is not available in the EU on iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch, and not in mainland China. Apple says it is “working constructively with the EU”. It is also off for users under 13. And Apple says some features that run on its servers, including Siri AI, now have daily usage limits, with “expanded access” to come “for a fee in the future”.
The privacy switch to know
More memory means more of your data in play. Apple says Siri AI is built to protect privacy, and the update adds one setting worth finding: Excluded Apps. It lets you choose, in one place, which apps Siri, Search and suggestions can see. If you don’t want Siri reading a particular app, that is where to turn it off.
163 security fixes
The update also matters if you never touch Siri. Apple’s security notes for iOS 27.2 list 163 fixed vulnerabilities, or CVEs, the public IDs given to known security flaws. One, in Apple Intelligence itself, could let “a remote attacker” access sensitive user data. Another could leak your real address when using Hide My Email, the feature built to hide it.
AI is on both sides of the ledger. Three fixes credit Anthropic Research and four credit OpenAI, mostly its Codex Security team, as MacRumors also noted. Apple does not say any of the flaws were exploited. Older phones get many of the same fixes in iOS 26.7.2, per Apple’s security releases page. Apple says about 80% of iPhone owners are still on iOS 26, TechCrunch reports.
The plain reading: install the update for the security fixes alone. Then check Excluded Apps before Siri starts remembering.
