Maar wij toonden aan dat door het systeem te leren om steeds kleine aanpassingen te maken, grote energiebesparingen kunnen worden bereikt - en tegelijkertijd meer koolstof kan worden vastgelegd.\"<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Koolstofafvang is een cruciaal proces voor het verminderen van de milieu-impact van CO2, het belangrijkste broeikasgas dat door de meeste energiecentrales wordt geproduceerd.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dit wordt meestal bereikt door verbeterde verwering, een methode waarbij rookgassen door water met kalksteen worden geblazen, waardoor een reactie met calciumcarbonaat plaatsvindt en onschadelijk bicarbonaat wordt gevormd.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dit proces is echter energie-intensief, omdat er energie nodig is om water en CO2 op te pompen. De CO2-afvanginstallatie in het onderzoek had een eigen windturbine voor hernieuwbare energie, maar bij rustiger weer, als dat niet voldoende was, werd energie van het elektriciteitsnet gebruikt.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De prestaties van het onderzoeksteam liggen in het gebruik van AI om het modelsysteem in staat te stellen fluctuaties in CO2-productie en beschikbaarheid van hernieuwbare energie te voorspellen. Ons model kan iedereen helpen die meer CO2 probeert op te vangen en op te slaan met minder energie, ongeacht het proces dat ze gebruiken.\"<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De onderzoekers hopen dat deze bevindingen kunnen bijdragen aan de Sustainable Development Goals van de Verenigde Naties, die als doel hebben om de druk op niet-hernieuwbare energiebronnen te verminderen en te investeren in innovatieve technologie\u00ebn om koolstof op te vangen.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eerder in januari van dit jaar gebruikte Microsoft AI om een nieuwe lithiumbatterij-elektrolyt te maken dat in staat is om <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyai.com\/nl\/2024\/01\/microsoft-ai-discover-an-ultra-efficient-battery-electrolyte\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">lithiumgehalte in batterijen door sommige 70%<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meer over het onderzoek<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Het onderzoek was gericht op het optimaliseren van koolstofafvang om het gebruik van niet-hernieuwbare energiebronnen te verminderen en tegelijkertijd de CO2-afvang te behouden of te verbeteren.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Het gebruikte AI om het systeem aan te passen op basis van kleine veranderingen in plaats van continu op dezelfde snelheid te draaien.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zo werkt het:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Modellen maken voor CO2-afvang<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Onderzoekers ontwikkelden machine-learningmodellen om te voorspellen hoe effici\u00ebnt een reactor CO2 zou kunnen afvangen en hoeveel stroom deze zou verbruiken. Ze gebruikten twee soorten modellen: LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) en MLP (Multilayer Perceptron).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Belangrijke factoren voorspellen met AI<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Ze gebruikten AI om twee cruciale factoren te voorspellen: hoeveel CO2 er in het gas van een kolencentrale zou zitten en hoeveel windenergie er beschikbaar zou zijn om het afvangproces van energie te voorzien. Deze voorspellingen zijn belangrijk voor de planning van het afvangproces.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>De modellen testen en verbeteren<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Het team testte hun AI-modellen rigoureus op nauwkeurigheid met behulp van statistische methoden. Ze gebruikten ook een techniek genaamd conforme voorspelling om te bepalen hoeveel vertrouwen ze konden hebben in de voorspellingen van het model.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Het vastleggingsproces optimaliseren<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Met behulp van de gegevens van hun AI-modellen gebruikten de onderzoekers een geavanceerd algoritme om de beste balans te vinden tussen het opvangen van de meeste CO2 en het gebruik van de minste hoeveelheid niet-hernieuwbare energie.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>De resultaten analyseren<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: De resultaten waren veelbelovend.
