De AI oorsprong van de wet werd echter pas op 29 november 2023 onthuld door gemeenteraadslid Ramiro Ros\u00e1rio.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spreken met <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/brazil-artificial-intelligence-porto-alegre-5afd1240afe7b6ac202bb0bbc45e08d4\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De Associated Press<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ros\u00e1rio onthulde: \"Ik vroeg OpenAI's chatbot ChatGPT om een voorstel te maken.\" Hij gaf verder toe dat hij dit voorstel aan de 35 leden tellende raad presenteerde zonder ook maar \u00e9\u00e9n woord te veranderen en hen niet informeerde over de AI-oorsprong ervan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reflecterend op zijn beslissing, zei Ros\u00e1rio: \"Als ik het eerder had onthuld, zou het voorstel zeker niet eens in stemming zijn gebracht.\"<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zoals te verwachten was, heeft de unanieme goedkeuring van de raad en de daaropvolgende invoering van de wet op 23 november een debat losgemaakt over de rol van AI in juridische en politieke processen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Het gebrek aan transparantie in Ros\u00e1rio's aanpak was een bewuste keuze om discussie uit te lokken.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Het initiatief van Porto Alegre is niet het enige voorbeeld van wetgevers die experimenteren met AI voor wetgevende doeleinden. In Massachusetts heeft de Democratische senator Barry Finegold ChatGPT gebruikt om een wetsvoorstel op te stellen om AI-modellen te reguleren.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finegold benadrukte de behoefte aan transparantie in het gebruik van dergelijke technologie in wetgevende processen, en zei: \"We willen dat werk dat door ChatGPT is gegenereerd een watermerk krijgt.\"<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eerder dit jaar hebben Costa Ricaanse wetgevers <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyai.com\/nl\/2023\/07\/costa-rica-uses-chatgpt-to-draft-law-to-regulate-ai\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ChatGPT gebruikt om wetgeving op te stellen<\/span><\/a>,<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0hun vraag vooraf laten gaan door \"denk als een advocaat\".<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hamilton Sossmeier, de voorzitter van de gemeenteraad van Porto Alegre, die aanvankelijk kritisch stond tegenover de methode, heeft later zijn mening herzien. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hij erkende het nut van AI en merkte op: \"Ik ben van gedachten veranderd.
