Door de microfundamentaties van de overtuigingen van individuen over AI te begrijpen, kunnen we beter beoordelen hoe AI wordt ontwikkeld en gebruikt in de samenleving.\"<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Om inzicht te krijgen in de publieke opinie over AI, ontwikkelden de onderzoekers een enqu\u00eate om de voorkeuren voor verschillende AI-technologie\u00ebn in verschillende sectoren te evalueren, zoals bewapende drones, medische chirurgie, politiebewaking, autonome voertuigen en content moderatie op sociale media.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De enqu\u00eate werd uitgevoerd tussen 7 en 21 oktober 2022 en verzamelde reacties van 1.008 Amerikaanse burgers.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mensen steunen AI ondanks scepsis<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hun bevindingen belichtten een \"vertrouwensparadox\", een term die de onderzoekers hebben bedacht om het fenomeen te beschrijven waarbij mensen AI-technologie\u00ebn goedkeuren ondanks twijfels over de betrouwbaarheid ervan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deze paradox was vooral significant in de context van politiesurveillance, maar werd ook opgemerkt op gebieden als drones, autonome auto's, medische ingrepen en het modereren van content op sociale media.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De perceptie van hoe autonoom een technologie was, be\u00efnvloedde ook de steun van het publiek. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mensen waren bijvoorbeeld meer geneigd om technologie\u00ebn met gemengde autonomie te steunen, waarbij zowel mensen als AI beslissingen kunnen nemen, in vergelijking met volledig autonome of volledig door mensen gecontroleerde opties.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Demografische factoren speelden ook een rol bij het vormen van attitudes.
