David Shim, een professor aan KAIST, legt uit dat \"Pibot een humano\u00efde robot is die een vliegtuig kan besturen net als een menselijke piloot door alle bedieningselementen in de cockpit, die ontworpen is voor mensen, te manipuleren.\"<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De robot is 160 cm hoog, weegt 65 kg en kan dankzij het humano\u00efde ontwerp in de stoel van de piloot zitten zoals een menselijke piloot dat zou doen. Maar het is ChatGPT dat Pibot echt speciaal maakt.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Met behulp van de LLM kan Pibot de handleiding van een vliegtuigpiloot \"lezen\" en uit het hoofd leren, zodat hij direct weet hoe hij ermee moet vliegen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Menselijke piloten trainen normaal gesproken op een specifiek type vliegtuig en moeten worden bijgeschoold als ze met een ander model moeten vliegen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Voor Pibot is het gewoon een kwestie van de nieuwe handleiding invoeren en hij weet meteen precies hoe hij met het nieuwe vliegtuigmodel moet vliegen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hetzelfde voordeel geldt voor het snel leren en onthouden van vluchtplannen. Het geheugen is groot genoeg om alle Jeppesen luchtvaartnavigatiekaarten over de hele wereld uit het hoofd te leren. Een menselijke piloot zou dat onmogelijk kunnen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De makers van Pibot verwachten dat hij vlekkeloos kan vliegen omdat hij sneller kan reageren dan menselijke piloten en zonder enige emotie, zelfs in noodsituaties.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Momenteel is Pibot afhankelijk van een internetverbinding, maar het team werkt aan het vervangen van ChatGPT door een aangepaste LLM die lokaal op een boordcomputer draait.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Heb jij liever een robotpiloot dan een menselijke? Het zal nog wel even duren voordat we dat moeten overwegen, want Pibot is nog in ontwikkeling en zal pas in 2026 klaar zijn. Het zal interessant zijn om te zien hoe zijn eerste echte prestaties als copiloot zullen verlopen. Als het zo goed gaat als ze verwachten, zullen we misschien zien dat piloten van luchtvaartmaatschappijen zich bij de picketlinies aansluiten, samen met andere piloten. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyai.com\/nl\/2023\/07\/which-jobs-face-the-highest-risk-of-automation\/\">werknemers bedreigd door AI<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Naast het vliegen in vliegtuigen kan Pibot volgens David Shim een mens overal vervangen waar iemand \"zit en werkt\".
