CoreWeave begon zijn leven in een datacenter in New Jersey.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De oprichters gebruikten GPU's voor het verifi\u00ebren van blockchain-transacties. Omdat ze het bredere potentieel van hun activa erkenden, waren ze tegen 2019 overgestapt op het bouwen van een gespecialiseerde cloudinfrastructuur in 7 faciliteiten om grootschalige GPU-clusters aan te bieden.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">McBee zegt echter dat het tot maart van dit jaar duurde voordat de GPU-expertise van CoreWeave in de cloud een centrale plaats innam in de AI-activiteiten van bigtech.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Een tekort aan GPU's zorgde ervoor dat veel AI-bedrijven zich tot CoreWeave wendden, waardoor ze in april een Serie B-financieringsronde van $221 miljoen binnenhaalden, die nog werd versterkt door een investering van $200 miljoen in de daaropvolgende maand.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Onder de investeerders was Nvidia, een van de grootste supporters van CoreWeaves. Volgens McBee heeft CoreWeave vorig jaar $30 miljoen aan inkomsten gegenereerd, zal het dit jaar naar verwachting $500 miljoen bereiken en heeft het voor volgend jaar al bijna $2 miljard aan contracten afgesloten.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Nvidia werkte samen met Inflection en CoreWeave om een cluster van 3.584 H100-chips te bouwen die <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyai.com\/nl\/2023\/06\/nvidias-h100-chips-smash-ai-training-and-deployment-records-in-benchmark-test\/\">verbrijzelde AI-trainingsrecords<\/a> over de hele linie eind juni.<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Inflection AI, dat onlangs een duizelingwekkende <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyai.com\/nl\/2023\/07\/inflection-ai-raises-1-3-billion-just-two-months-after-releasing-its-chatbot-pi\/\">$1,3 miljard financieringsronde,<\/a> is van plan om de grootste AI-trainingsstack ter wereld te bouwen, bestaande uit maar liefst 22.000 Nvidia GPU's.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De strategische beslissing van Nvidia om aan CoreWeave te leveren, heeft het concurrentievoordeel van CoreWeave zeker versterkt, vooral omdat high-end AI-chips schaars zijn in dit soort volumes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">McBee erkende dit voordeel en voegde eraan toe: \"Ik kan me voorstellen dat dit ons zeker helpt in onze voortdurende inspanningen om meer GPU's van Nvidia te krijgen ten koste van onze collega's.\"<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wat is CoreWeave en wat doen ze?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CoreWeave is een startup gespecialiseerd in cloud computing-oplossingen die GPU's inzetten om werklasten te versnellen.
