{"id":3330,"date":"2023-07-28T19:22:01","date_gmt":"2023-07-28T19:22:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyai.com\/?p=3330"},"modified":"2023-07-28T21:03:55","modified_gmt":"2023-07-28T21:03:55","slug":"the-frontier-model-forum-will-it-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyai.com\/nl\/2023\/07\/the-frontier-model-forum-will-it-work\/","title":{"rendered":"Het grensmodel forum: zal het werken?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Deze week hebben Microsoft, Google, OpenAI en Anthropic het Frontier Model Forum opgericht, dat zich bezighoudt met AI-veiligheid en -verantwoordelijkheid.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Het forum <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyai.com\/nl\/2023\/07\/microsoft-anthropic-google-and-openai-launch-the-frontier-model-forum\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">missie<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> omvat het identificeren van de beste AI-praktijken, het ondersteunen van de publieke en private sector, het samenwerken met academici en het samenwerken met beleidsmakers om ervoor te zorgen dat de voordelen van AI worden gekanaliseerd en de risico's ervan worden beperkt. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dit komt kort nadat 7 AI-bedrijven hebben gekozen voor een vrijwillig AI-raamwerk <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyai.com\/nl\/2023\/07\/the-white-house-announces-voluntary-cooperation-on-ai-development\/\">geschetst door het Witte Huis<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dergelijke samenwerking tussen rivalen is relatief gebruikelijk in de ontluikende AI-industrie, waar concurrenten af en toe hardware en onderzoek hebben gedeeld, maar dat wil niet zeggen dat de echte inhoud achter modellen niet achter slot en grendel blijft.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Het door Microsoft gesteunde OpenAI is <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyai.com\/nl\/2023\/06\/the-turbulent-relationship-between-microsoft-and-openai\/\">samenwerken met rivalen van het bedrijf<\/a>Salesforce en Duckduckgo, die laten zien dat relaties in de AI-wereld ingewikkeld zijn.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Experts zijn van mening dat het succes van het Forum een niveau van samenwerking vereist dat verder gaat dan het delen van middelen voor wederzijds voordeel - het houdt in dat AI-bedrijven hun diepste geheimen prijsgeven.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vooraanstaand analist Avivah Litan van Gartner betwijfelt of het Forum zijn doelen zal bereiken en stelt: \"De kans dat een groep diehard concurrenten tot een gemeenschappelijke bruikbare oplossing komt en deze ook daadwerkelijk overal ge\u00efmplementeerd krijgt - in zowel gesloten als open source modellen die zij en anderen wereldwijd controleren - is praktisch nul.\"<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Het Forum bestaat momenteel uit 4 stichtende leden, maar staat open voor andere organisaties die zich inzetten voor de ontwikkeling van veilige modellen en die bredere branche-initiatieven ondersteunen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Litan toonde zich optimistisch over de bedrijven <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyai.com\/nl\/2023\/06\/ai-companies-want-regulation-but-is-it-for-the-right-reasons\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">beter be\u00efnvloedende regelgeving<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> collectief, maar benadrukte de noodzaak van een internationale regelgevende instantie om wereldwijde AI-normen af te dwingen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\"Gezien het feit dat we nog geen wereldwijde samenwerking van regeringen hebben gezien op het gebied van klimaatverandering, waar de oplossingen al bekend zijn, is het verwachten van een dergelijke samenwerking op het gebied van AI, waarbij de oplossingen nog niet gedefinieerd zijn, nog uitdagender. Deze bedrijven kunnen er tenminste naar streven om oplossingen te identificeren, en dat is een positief aspect,\" zei Litan.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sommigen zijn optimistisch over het Frontier Model Forum\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dr. Kate Devlin, hoofddocent AI aan het King's College in Londen, erkende de positieve gevoelens van het Frontier Model Forum.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\"De aankondiging lijkt zich voornamelijk te concentreren op technische benaderingen. Bij een verantwoorde ontwikkeling van AI zijn er echter bredere socio-technische aspecten die moeten worden aangepakt,\" aldus Dr. Devlin. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/technology\/artificial-intelligence\/big-tech-ai-alliance-has-almost-zero-chance-of-achieving-goals-expert-says\">opgemerkt<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bovendien kan het forum de samenwerking op het gebied van regelgeving vereenvoudigen door ervoor te zorgen dat de regels in de hele sector worden toegepast. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Forum heeft bijvoorbeeld steun toegezegd aan het Hiroshima AI-proces van de G7, een pact dat is gesloten tijdens de G7-top in Japan en waarin wordt gevraagd om samenwerking met de OESO en GPAI.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Met weinig tot geen verplichte regels rondom AI blijft de richting van de technologie in de schoot van ontwikkelaars, die op zijn minst oppervlakkige pogingen doen om de risico's op de korte termijn te beperken.<\/p>\n<p>De resultaten van samenwerkingsinspanningen, zoals het Forum, laten nog op zich wachten.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Deze week hebben Microsoft, Google, OpenAI en Anthropic het Frontier Model Forum opgericht, dat zich richt op AI-veiligheid en -verantwoordelijkheid.
