In mei ging een groot aantal diepe vervalsingen viraal op sociale media, waaronder een valse foto van een <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyai.com\/nl\/2023\/05\/fake-ai-image-of-pentagon-explosion-goes-viral-on-twitter\/\">explosie in het Pentagon<\/a>waardoor de Amerikaanse S&amp;P 500-beurs met 0,3% daalde.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Jourova zei dat generatieve AI \"nieuwe uitdagingen introduceert voor de strijd tegen desinformatie\" en \"nieuwe risico's en mogelijke negatieve gevolgen voor de samenleving\" met zich meebrengt. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ze zei dat bedrijven die zich inschreven voor de <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu\/en\/policies\/code-practice-disinformation\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Vrijwillige code van de EU om desinformatie te bestrijden<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> moeten beginnen met het \"duidelijk labelen\" van diensten die het risico lopen verkeerde informatie te verspreiden.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">De haast om AI te reguleren<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Deze opmerkingen komen v\u00f3\u00f3r de <a href=\"https:\/\/digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu\/en\/policies\/digital-services-act-package\">EU-wet digitale diensten<\/a>Deze wet wordt in augustus van kracht en verplicht 'grote online platforms' die actief zijn in de EU (gedefinieerd als platforms met meer dan 55 miljoen gebruikers) om schadelijke inhoud aan te pakken en de privacy van gebruikers te verbeteren. De wet zal waarschijnlijk in 2026 van kracht worden, wat zowel AI-technologieleiders als EU-functionarissen niet snel genoeg beseffen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Opmerkelijk genoeg zijn het niet alleen politici die zich zorgen maken over de snelle evolutie van AI, maar ook de CEO's van bedrijven als OpenAI en Google, die afzonderlijk spraken over een mogelijk <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyai.com\/nl\/2023\/06\/us-eu-discussions-push-for-temporary-ai-stop-gap-before-regulations-become-binding\/\">AI-pact' of 'stop gap'-regels<\/a> om de ontwikkeling van AI te vertragen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Vorige maand zei OpenAI CEO Sam Altman <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/6280372\/sam-altman-chatgpt-regulate-ai\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">het Congres aangemoedigd om AI te reguleren<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> en later <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2023\/05\/26\/sam-altman-shares-his-optimistic-view-of-our-ai-future\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">zei op een conferentie<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">,,Ik denk dat het goed gaat komen. Ik denk dat het belangrijk is dat we dit doen. Nou, het meest recente vrijwillige EU-kader voor desinformatie had een opvallende afwezige: Twitter.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Twitter stapte uit de vrijwillige code van de EU en weigerde later verder commentaar te geven. Thierry Breton, Europees Commissaris voor de Interne Markt, zei: \"Je kunt wegrennen maar je kunt je niet verstoppen,\" en Jourova zei: \"Twitter heeft de moeilijke weg gekozen.
