Dit verslaat andere traditionele en niet-invasieve tests.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cruciaal is echter dat het systeem alleen vertrouwt op eenvoudig te verkrijgen gegevens: spraak uit cognitieve beoordelingen en demografische basisinformatie zoals leeftijd, geslacht en opleidingsniveau. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bij cognitieve tests zoals de Boston Naming Test praat een clinicus met de pati\u00ebnt. Het geluid van deze tests wordt vaak opgenomen voor verdere analyse.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\"We wilden voorspellen wat er in de komende zes jaar zou gebeuren, en we hebben ontdekt dat we die voorspelling redelijkerwijs met relatief veel vertrouwen en nauwkeurigheid kunnen doen,\" aldus de onderzoekers. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/articles\/2024\/new-ai-program-could-predict-alzheimers-disease\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">zei Ioannis (Yannis) Paschalidis<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, directeur van het BU Rafik B. Hariri Institute for Computing and Computational Science &amp; Engineering en een van de hoofdonderzoekers van het onderzoek.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\"Als je kunt voorspellen wat er gaat gebeuren, heb je meer mogelijkheden en tijd om in te grijpen met medicijnen en kun je op zijn minst proberen de toestand stabiel te houden en de overgang naar ernstigere vormen van dementie te voorkomen.\"<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Meer over het onderzoek<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hier volgt een uitsplitsing van hoe het onderzoek werkte:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Het onderzoeksteam begon met het verzamelen van audio-opnames van cognitieve beoordelingen van 166 deelnemers met de diagnose mild cognitive impairment (MCI).
