Onderzoekers in het Verenigd Koninkrijk testten een AI-tool genaamd Foresight dat digitale tweelingen van pati\u00ebnten cre\u00ebert om toekomstige gezondheids- en behandelingsresultaten te voorspellen.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Het idee om digitale tweelingen te cre\u00ebren in verschillende industrie\u00ebn stelt ingenieurs in staat om systemen te testen in een simulatie voordat ze worden ingezet in de fysieke wereld. AI-tools zoals Vooruitzicht<\/a> maken dit nu mogelijk voor zorgverleners.<\/p>\n

Resultaten<\/h2>\n

De studie, gepubliceerd in The Lancet Digital Health<\/a>legde uit hoe de onderzoekers drie verschillende modellen van Foresight trainden met behulp van ziekenhuisdatasets van twee Britse ziekenhuizen en een openbaar beschikbare dataset in de VS, voor in totaal 811.336 pati\u00ebnten.<\/p>\n

Foresight kreeg de opdracht om uit een lijst van 10 mogelijke aandoeningen de aandoening te selecteren die een pati\u00ebnt waarschijnlijk zou ontwikkelen. Het voorspelde de volgende aandoening 68% en 76% van de tijd nauwkeurig bij gebruik van de twee Britse datasets en 88% van de tijd bij gebruik van Amerikaanse gegevens.<\/p>\n

Toen Foresight de taak kreeg om het volgende nieuwe biomedische 'concept' te voorspellen, wat een aandoening, symptoom, terugval of medicijn kan zijn, bereikte het een precisie van respectievelijk 80%, 81% en 91% door gebruik te maken van de Britse en Amerikaanse datasets.<\/p>\n
