P\u00e5 overflaten er AI virkelig ikke bra for milj\u00f8et.<\/p>\n<p>I brevet siteres rapporter om at \"Google brukte dobbelt s\u00e5 mye energi som hele San Francisco by\" i 2020, og at selskapets \"vannforbruk p\u00e5 stedet \u00f8kte med omtrent 20 prosent i 2022\". De nevnte det ikke, men <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyai.com\/nb\/2023\/09\/microsofts-ai-workloads-causes-water-consumption-to-rocket\/\">Microsofts vannforbruk<\/a> er heller ikke god lesning.<\/p>\n<p>I brevet heter det: \"Forskere har enkelt kunnet omg\u00e5 ChatGPTs sikkerhetstiltak for \u00e5 produsere en artikkel fra en klimafornekters perspektiv som hevdet at den globale temperaturen faktisk synker.\"<\/p>\n<p>For \u00e5 h\u00e5ndtere disse og relaterte farer oppfordret forfatterne av brevet Schumer til \u00e5 legge til en rekke klimarelaterte bestemmelser i AI-lovgivningen han arbeider med.<\/p>\n<h2>AI-krav til klimaendringer - er de gjennomf\u00f8rbare?<\/h2>\n<p>Krav som \u00e5 kreve at selskaper selv m\u00e5 rapportere om energibruk og utslipp knyttet til utvikling av kunstig intelligens, h\u00f8res rimelig ut. Noen selskaper, som Google, gj\u00f8r det allerede.<\/p>\n<p>Kravene om \"klima-desinformasjon\" kan v\u00e6re vanskeligere \u00e5 f\u00e5 gjennomslag for, ettersom det er mye debatt om hva som utgj\u00f8r \"desinformasjon\".
