Meta har utviklet en ny AI-modell kalt Nougat, som p\u00e5 en p\u00e5litelig m\u00e5te kan gj\u00f8re vitenskapelig tekst om til maskinlesbar tekst.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nougat er ikke perfekt, men den oppn\u00e5dde likevel en BLEU-poengsum p\u00e5 over 91% og en n\u00f8yaktighet p\u00e5 over 96% med sammenhengende tekst. BLEU-poengsummen m\u00e5ler likheten mellom den maskinoversatte teksten og et sett med referanseoversettelser av h\u00f8y kvalitet.<\/span><\/p>\n

For formler og tabeller gikk det litt d\u00e5rligere med en n\u00f8yaktighet p\u00e5 dr\u00f8yt 75%. Det er likevel mye bedre enn konkurrerende modeller som GROBID, som bare klarer \u00e5 treffe riktig 11% av gangene.<\/span><\/p>\n

Det finnes millioner av forskningssider som ikke kan indekseres eller s\u00f8kes i, fordi de bare kan leses effektivt av mennesker. Nougat endrer dette ved \u00e5 gj\u00f8re det mulig \u00e5 konvertere selv d\u00e5rlig skannede forsknings-PDF-er til maskinlesbar tekst.<\/span><\/p>\n
