Ledende personer fra mer enn 150 store bedrifter, deriblant Renault, Heineken, Airbus og Siemens, har offentlig oppfordret EU til \u00e5 revurdere sitt nye regelverk for kunstig intelligens.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

De uttrykker bekymring for at reglene i den nylig vedtatte AI-loven kan hindre konkurranse og innovasjon i den europeiske AI-sektoren.<\/span><\/p>\n

Denne appellen ble sendt i et \u00e5pent brev til Europaparlamentet, EU-kommisjonen og medlemslandene, der det ble hevdet at AI-loven kan sette Europas teknologiske konkurranseevne i fare.<\/span><\/p>\n

Den 14. juni vedtok Europaparlamentet <\/span>godkjente et utkast<\/span><\/a> av AI-loven etter to \u00e5r med dr\u00f8ftinger og endringer rundt relativt nye, store spr\u00e5klige AI-modeller (LLM-er) og grunnmodeller som OpenAIs GPT-4. Det gjenst\u00e5r fortsatt flere etapper f\u00f8r loven trer i kraft, noe som forventes \u00e5 skje i 2024.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Underskriverne av det \u00e5pne brevet hevder at AI-loven kan kvele Europas mulighet til \u00e5 fortsette \u00e5 ligge i forkant n\u00e5r det gjelder teknologisk innovasjon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

De uttrykker bekymring for at regelverket er for strengt, og at det hindrer regionens teknologiske ambisjoner i stedet for \u00e5 skape et positivt milj\u00f8 for utvikling av kunstig intelligens.<\/span><\/p>\n

Et sentralt sp\u00f8rsm\u00e5l som har blitt tatt opp, er lovens strenge regler for generative AI-systemer, en kategori av AI-modeller som ofte omtales som \"grunnmodeller\". AI-loven krever at AI-utviklere registrerer produktene sine hos EU, gjennomg\u00e5r risikovurderinger og oppfyller krav til \u00e5penhet, blant annet offentliggj\u00f8ring av alle opphavsrettsbeskyttede data som brukes til \u00e5 trene opp modellene.<\/span><\/p>\n

Selskapene mener at disse kravene kan f\u00f8re til uforholdsmessig h\u00f8ye kostnader og ansvarsrisiko, noe som kan f\u00f8re til at AI-utviklere trekker seg ut av det europeiske markedet. I brevet oppfordrer de EU til \u00e5 g\u00e5 bort fra de rigide kravene til etterlevelse av generative AI-modeller og heller innta en mer fleksibel, risikobasert tiln\u00e6rming.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jeannette zu F\u00fcrstenberg, grunnlegger av La Famiglia VC og en av underskriverne av brevet, uttaler \"Vi har kommet til den konklusjonen at EUs AI Act, i sin n\u00e5v\u00e6rende form, har katastrofale konsekvenser for europeisk konkurranseevne. Det er en sterk innovasjons\u00e5nd som frigj\u00f8res i Europa akkurat n\u00e5, med europeiske n\u00f8kkeltalenter som forlater amerikanske selskaper for \u00e5 utvikle teknologi i Europa. Regulering som legger urettferdige byrder p\u00e5 unge, innovative selskaper, setter denne innovasjons\u00e5nden i fare.\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Selskapene foresl\u00e5r ogs\u00e5 at EU oppretter et reguleringsorgan best\u00e5ende av eksperter fra AI-bransjen som skal f\u00f8re tilsyn med lovens anvendelse etter hvert som AI-teknologien utvikler seg.<\/span><\/p>\n

EU st\u00e5r fast<\/h2>\n

Drago\u0219 Tudorache, medlem av Europaparlamentet som ledet utviklingen av AI-loven, reagerte p\u00e5 brevet og sa: \"Det er synd at den aggressive lobbyen til noen f\u00e5 fanger opp andre seri\u00f8se selskaper. Selskapene som har signert brevet, reagerer p\u00e5 noen f\u00e5 selskapers oppfordringer, og utkastet til EU-lovgivning legger opp til en bransjestyrt prosess for \u00e5 definere standarder, styring med bransjen ved bordet og et lett reguleringsregime som krever \u00e5penhet. Ikke noe annet.\"<\/span><\/p>\n

OpenAIs administrerende direkt\u00f8r Sam Altman har tidligere advart om at selskapet kunne trekke seg ut av det europeiske markedet dersom det viste seg \u00e5 v\u00e6re uholdbart \u00e5 overholde EUs regelverk, men han senere beroliget<\/a> at OpenAI \"ikke har noen planer om \u00e5 forlate\".<\/span><\/p>\n
