En ny studie viser at mens mennesker sliter med \u00e5 skille mellom menneskestemmer og AI-stemmer, reagerer hjernen v\u00e5r annerledes n\u00e5r vi h\u00f8rer dem.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Som AI stemmekloning<\/a> blir mer avansert, reiser det etiske og sikkerhetsmessige problemstillinger som mennesker ikke har v\u00e6rt utsatt for tidligere.<\/p>\n

Tilh\u00f8rer stemmen i den andre enden av telefonsamtalen et menneske, eller er den generert av kunstig intelligens? Tror du at du kan se det?<\/a><\/p>\n

Forskere fra Psykologisk institutt ved Universitetet i Oslo testet 43 personer for \u00e5 se om de kunne skille mellom menneskestemmer og AI-genererte stemmer.<\/p>\n

Deltakerne var like d\u00e5rlige til \u00e5 identifisere menneskestemmer (56% n\u00f8yaktighet) og AI-genererte stemmer (50,5% n\u00f8yaktighet).<\/p>\n

Stemmens f\u00f8lelser p\u00e5virket hvor sannsynlig det var at de kunne identifisere den korrekt. N\u00f8ytrale AI-stemmer ble identifisert med 74,9% n\u00f8yaktighet, sammenlignet med bare 23% n\u00f8yaktighet for n\u00f8ytrale menneskestemmer.<\/p>\n

Glade menneskestemmer ble korrekt identifisert 77% av gangene, mens glade AI-stemmer ble identifisert med en bekymringsverdig lav treffsikkerhet p\u00e5 34,5%.<\/p>\n

S\u00e5 hvis vi h\u00f8rer en AI-generert stemme som h\u00f8res glad ut, er det mer sannsynlig at vi antar at det er et menneske.<\/p>\n

Selv om vi bevisst sliter med \u00e5 identifisere en AI-stemme riktig, ser det ut til at hjernen v\u00e5r fanger opp forskjellene p\u00e5 et ubevisst niv\u00e5.<\/p>\n

Forskerne utf\u00f8rte fMRI-skanninger av deltakernes hjerner mens de lyttet til de ulike stemmene. Skanningene avsl\u00f8rte signifikante forskjeller i hjerneaktiviteten som respons p\u00e5 AI-stemmene og menneskestemmene.<\/p>\n

Forskerne bemerket: \"AI-stemmer aktiverte h\u00f8yre anterior midcingulate cortex, h\u00f8yre dorsolaterale prefrontale cortex og venstre thalamus, noe som kan tyde p\u00e5 \u00f8kt \u00e5rv\u00e5kenhet og kognitiv regulering.<\/p>\n

\"Derimot fremkalte menneskestemmer sterkere responser i h\u00f8yre hippocampus samt i regioner som er forbundet med emosjonell prosessering og empati, slik som h\u00f8yre inferior frontal gyrus, anterior cingulate cortex og angular gyrus.\"<\/p>\n

Vi synes kanskje det er vanskelig \u00e5 vite om en stemme er AI-generert eller menneskelig, men hjernen v\u00e5r ser ut til \u00e5 v\u00e6re i stand til \u00e5 se forskjell. Den reagerer med \u00f8kt \u00e5rv\u00e5kenhet p\u00e5 AI-stemmer og en f\u00f8lelse av samh\u00f8righet n\u00e5r vi lytter til en menneskestemme.<\/p>\n

Deltakerne vurderte menneskestemmer som mer naturlige, troverdige og autentiske, spesielt glade stemmer og uttrykk for glede.<\/p>\n

Doktorgradsstipendiat Christine Skjegstad, som har gjennomf\u00f8rt studien sammen med professor Sascha Fr\u00fchholz, sier: \"Vi vet allerede at AI-genererte stemmer har blitt s\u00e5 avanserte at de nesten ikke kan skilles fra ekte menneskestemmer.<\/p>\n

\"Det er n\u00e5 mulig \u00e5 klone en persons stemme ut fra bare noen f\u00e5 sekunders opptak, og svindlere har brukt denne teknologien til \u00e5 etterligne en kj\u00e6r i n\u00f8d og lure ofrene til \u00e5 overf\u00f8re penger.<\/p>\n

\"Mens maskinl\u00e6ringseksperter har utviklet teknologiske l\u00f8sninger for \u00e5 oppdage AI-stemmer, vet vi mye mindre om hvordan den menneskelige hjernen reagerer p\u00e5 disse stemmene.\"<\/p>\n

Denne forskningen tyder p\u00e5 at hjernen v\u00e5r merker at noe ikke stemmer n\u00e5r den behandler en syntetisk stemme, og blir mer forsiktig.<\/p>\n
