Dans ce contexte, le catalyseur facilite l'extraction de l'oxyg\u00e8ne de l'eau, un processus essentiel pour la vie humaine sur Mars.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L'exp\u00e9rience de l'\u00e9quipe a consist\u00e9 \u00e0 utiliser un chimiste IA robotis\u00e9 pour automatiser la cr\u00e9ation et l'optimisation de ce catalyseur. Cette approche \u00e9tait n\u00e9cessaire car pour produire de l'oxyg\u00e8ne sur Mars, il faut convertir efficacement l'eau en oxyg\u00e8ne, ce qui est difficile dans le rude environnement martien.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le catalyseur mis au point est un compos\u00e9 multi-m\u00e9tallique complexe.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment, il s'agit d'un catalyseur \u00e0 six m\u00e9taux compos\u00e9 de mangan\u00e8se, de fer, de nickel, de magn\u00e9sium, d'aluminium et de calcium.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cette combinaison unique a \u00e9t\u00e9 identifi\u00e9e gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un processus pilot\u00e9 par l'IA qui a analys\u00e9 et test\u00e9 des millions de compositions potentielles afin de trouver la formule la plus efficace pour la r\u00e9action d'\u00e9volution de l'oxyg\u00e8ne (OER).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Voici comment cela fonctionne en pratique :<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Fractionnement de l'eau<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: L'objectif principal est de diviser les mol\u00e9cules d'eau (H2O) en oxyg\u00e8ne (O2) et en hydrog\u00e8ne (H2). Ce processus n\u00e9cessite un apport d'\u00e9nergie et se produit par le biais d'une r\u00e9action \u00e9lectrochimique.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>R\u00f4le du catalyseur<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Le catalyseur, compos\u00e9 de mangan\u00e8se (Mn), de fer (Fe), de nickel (Ni), de magn\u00e9sium (Mg), d'aluminium (Al) et de calcium (Ca), joue un r\u00f4le crucial dans cette r\u00e9action. Il sert \u00e0 r\u00e9duire la quantit\u00e9 d'\u00e9nergie n\u00e9cessaire pour initier et maintenir le processus de s\u00e9paration de l'eau. Essentiellement, il rend l'extraction de l'oxyg\u00e8ne de l'eau plus efficace et plus r\u00e9alisable, en particulier dans les conditions martiennes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>R\u00e9action d'\u00e9volution de l'oxyg\u00e8ne (OER)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Au cours du REL, le catalyseur facilite la lib\u00e9ration des atomes d'oxyg\u00e8ne des mol\u00e9cules d'eau. En pr\u00e9sence du catalyseur, les mol\u00e9cules d'eau sont plus facilement d\u00e9compos\u00e9es en oxyg\u00e8ne et en hydrog\u00e8ne \u00e0 l'aide d'un courant \u00e9lectrique.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le robot IA a analys\u00e9 de nombreuses donn\u00e9es exp\u00e9rimentales et th\u00e9oriques pour synth\u00e9tiser un catalyseur viable \u00e0 partir de plus de 3,7 millions de formules possibles.
