Source : <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humanbrainproject.eu\/en\/\">HBP<\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bien que dot\u00e9 d'objectifs grandioses et d'un financement de quelque 600 millions d'euros ($651m), le HBP n'a pas toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 une sin\u00e9cure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Tout au long de ses dix ann\u00e9es d'existence, le projet a \u00e9t\u00e9 au centre de nombreuses controverses, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/d41586-023-02600-x?utm_medium=Social&amp;utm_campaign=nature&amp;utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1692702349\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">y compris une p\u00e9tition<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> d'environ 150 neuroscientifiques d\u00e9clarant qu'ils ne participeraient pas tant que son directeur principal, Henry Markram, n'aurait pas \u00e9t\u00e9 licenci\u00e9. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le style de leadership de Markram a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9crit comme chaotique et sporadique, et b<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En 2016, il a perdu sa place au sein de la direction du projet et a re\u00e7u l'ordre de ne pas parler \u00e0 la presse. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De 2016 \u00e0 2020, la gestion du projet a \u00e9t\u00e9 fortement restructur\u00e9e.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">N\u00e9anmoins, le HBP reste l'un des projets les plus ambitieux de son genre et est associ\u00e9 \u00e0 des milliers d'\u00e9tudes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alors que la recherche sur l'IA et l'apprentissage automatique s'est acc\u00e9l\u00e9r\u00e9e au cours des derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, le HBP a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 concr\u00e9tiser ses ambitions de mod\u00e9lisation des processus les plus complexes du cerveau, mais n'est pas parvenu \u00e0 comprendre v\u00e9ritablement des concepts insaisissables tels que la conscience.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On pourrait dire qu'il est normal que la complexit\u00e9 du cerveau humain ait fait \u00e9chouer le projet neuroscientifique le plus ambitieux au monde.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cependant, cela n'\u00e9clipse pas enti\u00e8rement les autres succ\u00e8s du projet. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Selon Katrin Amunts, directrice de la recherche scientifique du HBP, le projet a produit \"des atlas c\u00e9r\u00e9braux en 3D de premier plan, des perc\u00e9es pour la m\u00e9decine personnalis\u00e9e bas\u00e9e sur la mod\u00e9lisation computationnelle du cerveau, l'IA et l'informatique d\u00e9riv\u00e9es du cerveau qui ouvrent une nouvelle voie \u00e0 la technologie, et bien d'autres choses encore\".<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Malgr\u00e9 la conclusion imminente de la DGPS, les chercheurs pr\u00e9sents \u00e0 la conf\u00e9rence se sont montr\u00e9s optimistes quant \u00e0 ses impacts futurs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\"Un projet, par d\u00e9finition, a toujours un d\u00e9but et une fin, mais ce que nous voyons aujourd'hui \u00e0 la fin du Human Brain Project est en train de se poursuivre\", a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Viktor Jirsa, chercheur \u00e0 l'universit\u00e9 d'Aix-Marseille.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Soulignant l'importance de la collaboration internationale, Stephanie Forkel, de l'universit\u00e9 Radboud aux Pays-Bas, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 : \"Nous sommes tous sortis de nos silos\".<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Un document pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 lors du sommet, cosign\u00e9 par 98 chercheurs de 16 pays, expose une vision collective pour le domaine.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le document, transmis \u00e0 la Commission europ\u00e9enne lors de l'\u00e9v\u00e9nement, d\u00e9crit \"les domaines de recherche que nous envisageons pour les ann\u00e9es \u00e0 venir, l'instrumentation n\u00e9cessaire et les principales opportunit\u00e9s\", selon M. Amunts.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La contribution du HBP \u00e0 la technologie m\u00e9dicale<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Un r\u00e9sultat phare du HBP est <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebrains.eu\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EBRAINS<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L'Institut de recherche sur le cerveau, une infrastructure de recherche qui offre un acc\u00e8s libre \u00e0 une multitude de donn\u00e9es, de technologies de pointe et de services pour la recherche sur le cerveau.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la fusion de cartes en 3D couvrant environ 200 structures du cortex c\u00e9r\u00e9bral et des r\u00e9gions plus profondes du cerveau, les chercheurs du HBP ont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 l'Atlas du cerveau humain, qui est disponible sur la plateforme.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cet atlas complet offre une vue stratifi\u00e9e de l'architecture du cerveau, depuis les structures cellulaires et mol\u00e9culaires jusqu'aux groupes fonctionnels et aux r\u00e9seaux de connectivit\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\"Pensez \u00e0 l'atlas du cerveau humain comme au Google Maps des neurosciences\", a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 M. Je travaille avec l'atlas du cerveau humain sur EBRAINS, qui comprend des donn\u00e9es extr\u00eamement volumineuses que l'on ne peut pas traiter sur un ordinateur portable normal. Il faut des superordinateurs... Maintenant, tout cela a \u00e9t\u00e9 vraiment simplifi\u00e9, et je peux acc\u00e9der aux donn\u00e9es et travailler avec elles de n'importe o\u00f9 dans le monde, comme n'importe quel chercheur en sciences du cerveau !<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De nombreux succ\u00e8s cliniques ont \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 enregistr\u00e9s. Les recherches men\u00e9es dans le cadre du projet ont jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le essentiel dans l'\u00e9tude et le d\u00e9veloppement de nouvelles th\u00e9rapies pour des affections neurologiques telles que l'\u00e9pilepsie et la maladie de Parkinson. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">S<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les scientifiques explorent les moyens d'utiliser des techniques de stimulation c\u00e9r\u00e9brale profonde, initialement mod\u00e9lis\u00e9es et mises en \u0153uvre par l'industrie. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.humanbrainproject.eu\/en\/follow-hbp\/news\/2023\/02\/10\/human-brain-project-researchers-improve-parkinsons-disease-classification\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">compris gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la recherche sur la PBH<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L'utilisation d'un m\u00e9dicament pour soulager les sympt\u00f4mes de la maladie de Parkinson.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L'IA au service de la compr\u00e9hension des stimuli visuels<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L'une des r\u00e9alisations les plus importantes du HBP au cours des derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es est la compr\u00e9hension de la mani\u00e8re dont le <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.humanbrainproject.eu\/en\/follow-hbp\/news\/2023\/08\/17\/understanding-how-brain-makes-sense-what-we-see\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">le cerveau traite les stimuli visuels<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Des chercheurs de l'universit\u00e9 d'Amsterdam ont observ\u00e9 que les interpr\u00e9tations visuelles du cerveau d\u00e9pendent des donn\u00e9es auditives et tactiles, et pas seulement des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s visuelles des stimuli. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Notre sens de la vue est \u00e9troitement li\u00e9 \u00e0 d'autres sens, tels que l'ou\u00efe et, \u00e9tonnamment, le toucher. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cela sugg\u00e8re que notre compr\u00e9hension de l'environnement est un processus plus interactif et multisensoriel qu'on ne le pensait auparavant.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cyriel Pennartz, chercheur au HBP et l'un des auteurs de l'\u00e9tude, a expliqu\u00e9 que cette vision multimodale du traitement sensoriel soutient la th\u00e9orie du \"neurorepr\u00e9sentationalisme\", qui consid\u00e8re la perception comme \"la construction des meilleures repr\u00e9sentations possibles de notre environnement\".<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sur la base de cette recherche, des scientifiques de l'universit\u00e9 technologique de Graz, dans le cadre du HBP, ont form\u00e9 un mod\u00e8le d'IA \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle qui imite le cortex visuel primaire de la souris.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ensuite, un <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencealert.com\/a-brain-implant-has-allowed-a-blind-woman-to-see-simple-2d-shapes-and-letters\">\u00e9tude distincte<\/a> a mis au point un implant c\u00e9r\u00e9bral destin\u00e9 \u00e0 rendre la vue aux malvoyants apr\u00e8s un accident de voiture. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ont montr\u00e9 que la stimulation du cortex visuel induit une perception visuelle chez le singe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cette approche stimule directement le cerveau, sans passer par les yeux et le nerf optique.
