Quelle est donc l'importance de cette nouvelle puce et de cette nouvelle plate-forme ?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dans sa pr\u00e9sentation, Jensen Huang, PDG de Nvidia, a pris l'exemple d'un centre de donn\u00e9es typique \u00e9quip\u00e9 de 8800 processeurs x86 ex\u00e9cutant diverses fonctions informatiques (budget ISO).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Un tel centre de donn\u00e9es utilisant Llama 2 pour l'inf\u00e9rence, avec une base de donn\u00e9es vectorielle interrog\u00e9e et SDXL g\u00e9n\u00e9rant les r\u00e9sultats, co\u00fbterait environ $100m et utiliserait 5MW d'\u00e9nergie.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Un centre de donn\u00e9es de $100m utilisant 2500 plateformes GH200 pourrait faire tourner les m\u00eames mod\u00e8les 12 fois plus vite et n'utiliserait que 3MW d'\u00e9nergie.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Si un centre de donn\u00e9es se concentre sur un ensemble de t\u00e2ches tr\u00e8s sp\u00e9cifiques (ISO-workload), la comparaison devient encore plus stup\u00e9fiante.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Il suffirait de d\u00e9penser $8m pour 210 appareils GH200 consommant 20 fois moins d'\u00e9nergie pour atteindre les performances d'un centre de donn\u00e9es de $100m.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Il va sans dire que tous les centres de donn\u00e9es d'informatique en nuage \u00e0 base d'IA qui \u00e9taient en phase de planification avant cette publication devront retourner \u00e0 leur planche \u00e0 dessin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les puces GH200 seront lanc\u00e9es au deuxi\u00e8me trimestre 2024 et devraient grignoter une bonne partie du march\u00e9 des processeurs x86. La nouvelle puce MI300 d'AMD est la plus proche rivale de Nvidia, mais son avantage en mati\u00e8re de m\u00e9moire semble \u00eatre \u00e9rod\u00e9 par la mise \u00e0 niveau de la nouvelle puce GH200.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Les progr\u00e8s de la technologie des processeurs que nous observons d\u00e9passent de loin les attentes des consommateurs. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Moore%27s_law\">Loi de Moore<\/a> et ne montre aucun signe de ralentissement.
