Para ello suele ser necesario pasar la noche en el hospital y colocar hasta 20 sensores al paciente.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Los datos de estos sensores se consolidan en el \u00edndice de apnea-hipopnea (IAH), que mide el n\u00famero de apneas (interrupciones de la respiraci\u00f3n) por hora para evaluar la gravedad del trastorno.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adem\u00e1s de ser lenta y engorrosa, la PSG tiene sus defectos. Como afirma Hyung-Sin Kim, de la Universidad Nacional de Se\u00fal (Corea del Sur): \"Muchas personas dicen que no pueden dormir bien durante la PSG debido a las molestias\". A<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">as pruebas precisas requieren la observaci\u00f3n de varias noches de sue\u00f1o natural para mitigar la variabilidad del sue\u00f1o de una noche a otra y el efecto de la primera noche, lo que es casi imposible para la PSG en la pr\u00e1ctica\".<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Para resolver estos problemas, Kim y su equipo introdujeron un sistema en el que se observa a una persona sospechosa de padecer AOS con una c\u00e1mara de infrarrojos mientras duerme.
