Fuente: Shutterstock.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aprovechando el poder de los datos, el aprendizaje autom\u00e1tico (ML) y la tecnolog\u00eda en la nube, los expertos est\u00e1n desarrollando programas innovadores destinados a reconocer los patrones de deforestaci\u00f3n y proporcionar datos procesables para los responsables pol\u00edticos.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La IA se ha convertido en parte integrante de los esfuerzos mundiales de conservaci\u00f3n, ya que proporciona a los investigadores un medio para combinar datos procedentes de sensores, c\u00e1maras y sat\u00e9lites.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.technologyrecord.com\/article\/colombian-environmental-organisations-use-microsoft-ai-technology-to-preserve-amazon-rainforest\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proyecto Guacamaya<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">una colaboraci\u00f3n entre el Instituto Alexander von Humboldt, el Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n CinfonIA de la Universidad de los Andes, el Instituto Sinchi, y <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/research\/group\/ai-for-good-research-lab\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Laboratorio de Inteligencia Artificial de Microsoft<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tiene por objeto vigilar la deforestaci\u00f3n y la biodiversidad en la Amazonia colombiana.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Como describe Juan Lavista Ferres, vicepresidente y cient\u00edfico jefe de datos del laboratorio AI for Good de Microsoft, \"este proyecto no va a resolver todos los problemas que tiene Amazon, pero s\u00ed uno que me parece fundamental: no se puede resolver un problema si no se puede medir.\"<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Un enfoque triple<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La capacidad de la IA para trabajar con datos de m\u00faltiples modalidades proporciona a los investigadores una descripci\u00f3n detallada de este vasto y complejo entorno.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Por ejemplo, los datos por sat\u00e9lite proporcionan un macroan\u00e1lisis del bosque, incluidos los episodios de deforestaci\u00f3n, la miner\u00eda ilegal y los cambios en el uso del suelo.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Simult\u00e1neamente, c\u00e1maras y sensores sobre el terreno rastrean los efectos de los macrocambios en la biodiversidad local, como la p\u00e9rdida de h\u00e1bitats.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>He aqu\u00ed c\u00f3mo <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El proyecto Guacamaya combina diferentes sistemas de IA:<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Etapa 1: Datos por sat\u00e9lite para el an\u00e1lisis de macroterritorios<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El primer componente del Proyecto Guacamaya aprovecha los datos por sat\u00e9lite de <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.planet.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Laboratorios Planet<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Los datos por sat\u00e9lite proporcionan al proyecto im\u00e1genes diarias de alta resoluci\u00f3n de la selva amaz\u00f3nica, lo que permite un seguimiento casi en tiempo real. Fuente: Shutterstock.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carlos Souza Jr., investigador principal de Imazon y coordinador del proyecto PrevisIA, destac\u00f3 el poder proactivo de este enfoque: <\/span>\"Los modelos existentes de predicci\u00f3n de la deforestaci\u00f3n eran a largo plazo, contemplaban lo que ocurrir\u00eda dentro de d\u00e9cadas.
