A continuaci\u00f3n, analizaron estas im\u00e1genes mediante modelos de IA en busca de signos relacionados con tsunamis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El equipo entren\u00f3 su sistema de IA utilizando datos de tres tsunamis espec\u00edficos provocados por terremotos: el chileno de 2010, el japon\u00e9s de 2011 y el canadiense de 2012.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pusieron a prueba la eficacia del modelo en un cuarto tsunami provocado por el terremoto de Illapel de 2015 en Chile. Se analiz\u00f3 la IA para evaluar en qu\u00e9 medida pod\u00eda diferenciar los cambios inducidos por el tsunami del ruido de fondo ionosf\u00e9rico est\u00e1ndar.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Para minimizar los falsos positivos, los investigadores filtraron las perturbaciones causadas por las estaciones terrestres en comunicaci\u00f3n con los sat\u00e9lites a\u00e9reos.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seg\u00fan Quentin Brissaud, de NORSAR, una fundaci\u00f3n noruega de investigaci\u00f3n s\u00edsmica no vinculada al estudio, esta metodolog\u00eda arroj\u00f3 \"resultados bastante buenos\", con una tasa de precisi\u00f3n en la detecci\u00f3n superior a 90%. Sin embargo, Brissaud se\u00f1al\u00f3 que se necesitar\u00edan m\u00e1s datos para determinar la fiabilidad de este sistema para distintos tipos de tsunamis.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Quentin Brissaud se\u00f1ala que \"la rareza de los grandes tsunamis dificulta el an\u00e1lisis y la predicci\u00f3n de estos fen\u00f3menos\".<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Uno de los retos que plantea el despliegue de un sistema mundial de alerta de tsunamis es la necesidad de compartir los datos a escala internacional. Como menciona Constantinou, \"los datos suelen estar en manos de los gobiernos o de los socios comerciales que operan los sat\u00e9lites.
