And literally they\u2019ll probably be working three-and-a-half days a week.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many are concerned about AI\u2019s ability to disrupt workplaces and hoover up work, with studies suggesting the technology will <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyai.com\/2023\/08\/ai-could-eliminate-low-wage-service-jobs-in-us-by-2030\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">eliminate service jobs by 2030<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to some forecasts, higher-paid individuals are also at risk, posing the question: who will pay taxes when AI takes over? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And how will the jobless pay for the AI tools developers are already struggling to monetize amid the colossal costs of training advanced models?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reflecting this, Goldman Sachs raised an alarm that generative AI might displace roughly 300 million full-time jobs despite <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.goldmansachs.com\/intelligence\/pages\/generative-ai-could-raise-global-gdp-by-7-percent.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">raising GDP by 7%<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. IBM and McKinsey made <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyai.com\/2023\/08\/ibm-releases-new-research-into-ais-impact-on-the-job-market\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">similar forecasts<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, suggesting vast swathes of the population will need to reskill because of AI.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dimon, emphasizing the pervasive nature of AI at JP Morgan, believes it\u2019s multifaceted in its applications: \u201cIt\u2019s [doing] idea generation, it\u2019s [doing] large language models, it\u2019s note-taking while you\u2019re talking to someone\u2026it\u2019s a little bit of everything.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Healthcare and biomedical science is another sector where AI&#8217;s benefits are tangible. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2023 has witnessed a plethora of advanced medical breakthroughs assisted by cutting-edge AI, including generative AI.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyai.com\/2023\/09\/science-journal-nature-surveys-1600-researchers-about-ai\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">recent survey by the science journal Nature<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> revealed the true extent of how AI has come to influence science this year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While Dimon is generally optimistic about AI\u2019s potential, he didn&#8217;t dismiss the challenges, stating: \u201cTechnology has done unbelievable things for mankind but, you know, planes crash, pharmaceuticals get misused \u2013 there are negatives. This one, the biggest negative in my view, is AI being used by bad people to do bad things.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AI\u2019s potential benefits and drawbacks are balanced on a knife edge.
